BRIGHTON FIRST RESPONDER WAYNE GOULD
Brighton First Responder Wayne Gould Receives Iowa EMS Association Hall of Fame Award
Wayne Gould received the highest Sate of Iowa EMS award at the state's EMS Conference in Des Moines, Saturday, November 9, 2024.
Mr. Gould started his career in EMS as a founding member of the Brighton First Responders in 1982. He has seen that service go from over 20 members to only 2 during the forty-plus years the service has been operating.
As we all face tough times in the recruitment and retention of volunteers to provide Emergency Medical Service, Wayne has been a valuable member of the service often being the only member available to respond to calls all hours of the day. He has served as the glue that keeps the unit alive and running. His passion for ensuring that the citizens for his community have emergency services is second to none.
Wayne had over a dozen letters of nomination for the prestigious award including from the Washington County EMS Association.
