The Central Park in the City of Brighton is located in the business district. The park boasts state of the art playground equipment, 2 basketball courts, a pavilion with picnic benches, restroom facilities, and access to the nearby businesses.

Lake Darling State Park is located a short 3 miles west of the city limits and has many amenities. On site is located the Southeast Iowa Conservation Office. Camping, fishing, boating and swimming are some of the most enjoyed activities at the park, and boat rental is available. There are many hiking and horse trails located in and around the park as well. The Youth Center Summer Camp is also one of the highlights of the summer season, and there are several county parks nearby and four public accesses to the Skunk River can also be found.
